Mr Hadi (the owner of this Warung 1 Malaysia ) has taken some time off to dine with WHQ. He wanted us to have a taste of the authentic Malaysian food in his restaurant in Vietnam. A hidden gem alongside many Halal eateries in this "Malaysian Street". We dined together in support of Vietnam's top Halal food blogger's recommendation: Mr Kevin Miller, Jr.
Mr Hadi is a Chinese Muslim (convert from Malaysia) who is very passionate and dedicated man in ensuring that his daily food ingredients are from top credible Halal suppliers. And he speaks of quality in every food inserted in the menu.
My take:
I love the texture of the local rice used in this Nasi Lemak dish. It's chicken rendang is one of my favourite. It truly reminded me of Malaysia's authentic flavours. Eaten with the crunchy fried peanuts and anchovies and a dash of mild sambal, it's a whole great combination. Perfect for an afternoon lunch or morning lazy brunch.
Roti Canai with dollops of chicken curry is not bad.
Love the Extra Large iced-coffee (perfect!) and the iced lemonade; too sweet for my liking but in this hot weather, everything icy seems like a good drink.
My Verdict: 3.59 love out of 5.
Do come and give his food a try. For sure, you feel like coming home in a jiffy to Malaysian Kampung (village). It gives me that longing feeling to head home to my own family's village in Johor. Gosh, I missed them...
